Out of a NYC Afro Cuban music cocoon, Jose Conde emerged with a Moog synthesizer, looper, a yamaha vintage organ, electric guitar, Cuban tres, vocal and acoustic beats, and a slew of new free form jams and structured songs in pocket.

Bravely exploring rhythmic crosscurrents has long been Conde's thing and it led him to win the Best Latin Album Independent Music Award in 2008 with his Ola Fresca Cuban Roots group for their second album titled (R)Evolucion. In 2011 His first solo record (JOSE CONDE self titled) of funky eclectic world rhythm grooves was then lauded worldwide and spent 11 weeks in the CMJ world Music Top 5 winning praise for displaying a “trademark whimsy”. Brooklyn based for 20 years and through the 3 albums with OLA FRESCA and his solo work and side projects composing and producing, Jose Conde is now relocated in Miami and currently working on his second solo album which he is co producing with Andrew Yeomanson of South Florida’s favorite jam band, the Spam Allstars.

Jose Conde’s musical path is marked by a penchant for blending rhythmic elements of genres seamlessly in lyrical songs rooted in a love and fascination of nature, and appreciation for the absurd, and his Cuban American reality. The singer, songwriter, producer, multi instrumentalist has led OLA FRESCA, his Cuban dance band through 3 albums that have evolved sonically and musically from a rustic traditional Cuban vibe, to mambo, from Latin funk jam, to the latest incarnation; trombone led salsa and contemporary, funky, “timba” tinged tunes. His very different, but logically connected solo project evolved from a power world funk band playing earthy arrangements of his songs, to a Conde led project an electric world pop solo exploration of sonic perspectives with loops, samples, synthesis, and electronic beats mixed with organic acoustic elements.
